Privacy Policy — Star Rides
Effective date: October 10, 2026
The short version
Star Rides does not collect any personal information. The app has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us.
What your child does in Star Rides stays on your device and, if iCloud is turned on, in your family's own iCloud account. We cannot see it.
Star Pass purchases are handled by Apple. We never receive payment details.
You can erase your child's progress at any time from inside the app.
This policy covers the Star Rides app for iPhone and iPad.
Information stored on your device and in your iCloud
Star Rides saves a small amount of information so your child can pick up where they left off. It is stored on your device and is never sent to us.
Learner profile: the first name or nickname your child enters (optional; it can be skipped), the explorer character they choose, their age, the subject they start with, their favorite rides and how many rides they have started.
Learning progress: which questions have been answered, how many were right on the first try, which stickers have been earned and unwrapped, and which step of each subject your child has reached.
Settings: choices such as music and sound options. These stay on the device.
If iCloud is turned on, the profile and progress sync through Apple's iCloud so the same learner appears on your other iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. This information is kept in your own iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot access it. If iCloud is off, everything stays on the one device.
Information we don't collect
We do not collect, receive, sell or share personal information about you or your child.
No accounts or sign-up.
No advertising and no ad networks.
No analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs.
No access to location, contacts, photos, the camera or the microphone.
No chat, messaging or other ways to contact people inside the app.
Spoken questions use recordings built into the app or your device's own voice. Nothing your child says is recorded.
Purchases
Star Pass is sold through Apple's App Store, and Apple processes every payment. We never receive your name, Apple Account details or payment information.
The app only asks Apple whether Star Pass is active, so it can open the worlds and stickers that come with it, and saves that yes-or-no answer on the device. Family Sharing and subscription management, including cancellation, are handled by Apple in your Apple Account settings.
Apple services
The only outside services Star Rides uses are Apple's, which are built into your iPhone and iPad. Apple handles that information under the Apple Privacy Policy.
iCloud keeps progress in sync across your devices. iCloud uses Apple's push service in the background to tell your devices when progress changes. Star Rides never shows notifications.
The App Store delivers the app and processes Star Pass purchases.
Crash reports and app statistics: if you have turned on Share With App Developers, Apple may share crash data and usage statistics with us. Apple only shares them in a combined form that does not identify you (Apple's explanation). You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Children's privacy
Star Rides is made for children ages 4 to 10, and it is built so that we never collect personal information from them. This is how we follow children's privacy laws such as the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws in other countries.
The name field is optional, and a nickname works just as well. Whatever is entered stays on your family's devices and in your iCloud.
There are no ads, no social features and no way for a child to share information with anyone.
Grown-ups can see what their child has practiced in the app's progress report, and can erase it at any time (see below).
If you believe information about your child has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep no information about you or your child, so we have nothing to store or delete. What Star Rides saves stays on your devices and in your iCloud until you remove it:
Erase progress: open the Progress screen, tap Reset All Progress and complete the grown-up check. This removes all learning progress and stickers from every device signed in to the same iCloud account.
Change or clear the name: edit or delete it under Your explorer in the app's Settings.
Delete the app: removes everything Star Rides saved on that device.
Delete the iCloud copy: in your device's Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then manage your iCloud storage, choose Star Rides and delete its data.
Security
Star Rides sends nothing to us, so there is no server of ours holding your family's information. On your device, it is protected by your passcode and the device's built-in security. In iCloud, Apple encrypts it in transit and in storage (Apple's iCloud security overview).
Your privacy rights
We never sell or share personal information, because we never collect it. Laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California give you the right to access, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so you control everything Star Rides saves with the steps above. If you have a question or a request, contact us.
Changes to this policy
If Star Rides changes how it handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. We will never start collecting personal information from children without first getting a parent's permission, as the law requires.
